Of Course and Wale was created in 2017 by fashion apparel designer Adelaide Chang. Adelaide has always had a passion for design and an eye for innovation, which has led her to pursue a career in fashion from an early age. Adelaide has been in the industry for over 25 years working for brands like Nordstrom, REI, Sherpa, and Exofficio. 

 

Adelaide’s desire to create led her to occupying her free time with related hobbies.

She purchased a secondhand knitting machine back in 2013 from a friend. After the machine was rehomed and refurbished, it became Adelaide’s new vehicle to express her creativity. She found she was able to share her passion with friends and family through knit gifts.

​

In 2015, Kirtipur Sweater, one of Adelaide's designs at Sherpa Adventure Gear won a Gold Award for Outdoor Lifestyle and Fashion at the Winter 2015 Internationale Fachmesse für Sportartikel und Sportmode (ISPO) in Munich, Germany. Winning this award gave Adelaide the confidence to expand her horizons and start creating more accessories and patterns.
